Get Web Site Traffic To Your Anchor Text

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

The whole deal about getting web site traffic involves – in large part – to getting backlinks to your site.  But this is not just any old links, but rather using your anchor text, which links using your keyword terms.

This, in turn, means you need to actually KNOW what your keyword terms are.  Let’s assume you have that and know what they are (or “it” is) then you can now go about securing the necessary backlinks you need.

Using your keywords and using them properly in your text and in your link-seeking activity is vital to getting high web site traffic.

You need to ensure that your keywords, rather than your website name, are what are used in your links.  They may be largely the same, of course, but its important that you place them in your articles, in your links, in your headlines (of which more later) and whenever you contribute material in forums and elsewhere.  That way you will get web site traffic increasing to your site.

Michael Jackson’s Web Traffic Tips

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

The sad passing of Michael Jackson leads those of us in the Web Site Traffic world considering a lot of things – but there are some key factors about the magical performer that michaeljackson do stand out and that web marketers should know.  Jackson’s ability to wow and audience was undoubted, but notwithstanding his huge celebrity and bigger talent he was also a master marketeer.  The marketing marvel machine was only just stepping up with the new tour that the performer was planning, but it was already something that completely inundated the internet.  His death did the same and has already become one of those seminal, “where were you the day” moments.

For web marketers, however, there is an ability to tap into Jackson’s huge celebrity and his manner of developing a reputation.  There are some key rules:  Dare to be different. Jackson celebrated his different approach as much as his talent. He merged different musical forms into something totally unique. He thought outside the box and it worked for him.

Also, Challenge yourself. Jackson never ceased challenging himself and in doing so he created a phenomenon.  He faced more personal challenges than most, but he did that other thing all web traffic marketers must never do . .

Never give up!

One of the Best Web Traffic-Getting Tools Out There

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

We came upon a great web traffic getting tool recently, TrafficTravis, a keyword and optimization tool that is surely one of the best on the market.  The point about TrafficTravis is that you DON’T have to buy it – but it’s not a free traffic-getting tool in the sense that the paid version is a powerful addition to the armory of anyone seriously interested about getting targeted web site traffic.

The key to TrafficTravis is that it does several things – and does them all very well.  For a start, it’s intuitive and simple to use, which actually conceals it’s great power.  The TrafficTravis tool will not only hunt down keywords and let you sort them very conveniently into groups – for use in PPC campaigns or for search engine optimization, but it also provides effectively an online SEO assistant – right their at your elbow.  traffictravis

We have tried it, used it, abused it and critiqued it as much as we can.  And at the end of the day we LOVE IT, because the TrafficTravis tool is one that actually helps speed up the process that might otherwise confuse and befuddle internet newbies as they try and  hunt down their “killer” keywords and sort them, rank them and then use them intelligently in their campaigns and on their actual website.

It’s a terrific tool, coming from Internet marketing millionaire Mark Ling, and we highly recommend it.  Read more here.

Using Social Media To Get Web Traffic

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

We are frequently asked about social media and how to use these “Web2.0″ sites to get web traffic.

The fact is you can intelligently apply social media sites to get good, targeted traffic although you need to take care.  Increasingly these sites - Squiddo being the latest – are clamping down on crap content sites designed to push “optimized” content into them just to create backlinks.

Sure, backlinks are key and particularly if you’re using a high Page Rank site, even if you’re only operating a lens that no-one reads.  But times theya re a-changing and our mantra is to “deliver quality content” rather than keyword-stuffed social media BS.

Pay per click tactics can be a great way of getting visitors to your page who are eager to buy what you are selling, but this can be costly and a source of financial ruin if you don’t know exactly what you are doing and so social media and blogging remain a great way to generate a targeted audience for your content.
Traditional SEO, or search engine optimization, is now far too competitive for the average website to compete on a level playing field. The top search results are now being dominated by social media and bookmarking sites, but the good news is that you can use these very site to promote your website and get a lot of free web site traffic.

There are a lot that can be used to create backlinks and your own on-site blogs that in turn will get picked up by the search engines, but these are sites that you need to also treat with respect.  For instance, as with forum posts, you do not want to go about posting obviously spammy content. Deliver value and you will get value re-delivered to your website.
As we’ve said before the first step to getting agood volume of free website traffic is keyword research. Using the free Google adwords keyword tool, as well as other keyword tools like the free version of wordtracker, you can quickly build a list of keywords that people are actually typing in the search engines to find what your website is about.

When you have found some keywords with a good amount of traffic go over to Google search and search for the keyword, enclosing it in quotation marks. You are looking for keywords that come back with less than 500,000 results, when enclosed in quotes. Do this for all keywords that you identified as having good search traffic.

You’ll then start to begin to understand the keywords you should be using. We’ve got a lot more to say about this – so stay tuned. And check the resources at BestWebTrafficTools.com too if you’re wanting to know more about using social media to get web traffic.
